    In 1940, Jerzy Nowosielski began studies at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Kraków. From 1944, he became a member of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences. He was also a member of the Young Artists Group and the Krakow Group. In the years 1976-92 he was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.

    Painter, draftsman, stage designer, creator of figural compositions, still lifes, nudes, landscapes and sacred paintings, in which he combined modern elements with the influences of Byzantine art. His unique style is characterized by the use of a flat system of color spots surrounded by a clean contour line and a synthesizing perception of everyday life.
