    Landscape painter Jessie Agnes Palmer was born on October 19, 1882, in Lawrence, Texas, growing up in Dallas. She would live most of her life in Dallas, where she painted many of her works, though she also resided for a time in Amarillo, Texas in 1927-1933. As a child, she wanted to be an artist, but got a very late start in her career due to her marriage and raising a family. It was not until she was in her forties in the 1920s, that she seriously turned to painting, studying with Texas artists Frank Reaugh and Martha Simkins, and at the Carlson School of Landscape Painting, in Woodstock, New York.
