As a child, she wanted to be an artist, but got a very late start in her career due to her marriage and raising a family. It was not until she was in her forties in the 1920s, that she seriously turned to painting, studying with Texas artists Frank Reaugh and Martha Simkins, and at the Carlson School of Landscape Painting, in Woodstock, New York. She painted numerous West Texas landscapes while living in Amarillo, when she attended Reaugh's summer classes. She also studied at the... Read full biography
