From a flying boy like shooting stars at the very beginning, to one with rabbit ears and tails. During five years of experiment, Li finally returned to a more realistic image with, however, more complicated and subtle expression. This, ultimately, became Li's personal trait after 1970s.... In his works, pictures become an expression of individual self, of personal imagination, and of self consciousness only exists in day dreaming and self meditation. Li Jikai was born in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Li Jikai is now a teacher in the oil painting dept. of Hubei Academy of Fine Arts, won his bachelor's degree from Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in 1999, prior to obtaining his Master's in oil painting at the same academy. He has attended many important exhibitions in Chongqing, Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
