    Joaquim Chancho is a Spanish artist born in Reus. He studied drawing and sculpture in Reus and completed his studies at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de Sant Jordi in Barcelona. Chancho's work is based on the dialogue between gesture, writing, and synthetic structures. He is known for his use of rhythm and repetition, which is completed with fragments and interruptions.

    Chancho is currently a professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona and has exhibited in museums and galleries around the world. He has received numerous prestigious prizes for painting and drawing, including a grant from the Juan March Foundation in Madrid and the first painting prize at the Tarragona Biennale in 1987.
