    Joaquín Sáenz was a Spanish artist born in Seville. He learned lithography and typography in his family's printing house, "Gráficas del Sur," and attended the School of Arts and Crafts for painting classes. Sáenz was known for his impressionist-style paintings, particularly landscapes, which often verged on abstraction. He also excelled as a poster artist, creating posters for events such as Easter Week, the Seville Flamenco Biennial, and the Velá de Santa Ana. One of his famous series of paintings depicted Conil, its beaches and market gardens, and the Guadalquivir river. Sáenz stopped painting in 2002 due to blindness.
