    Johann Georg Müller was born in 1913 as the son of an industrial architect in Ludwigshafen. During his school years, he started training in drawing first at his father's desk, where he learned constructive drawing, later in the evening drawing classes at the Free Academy Mannheim. After graduating from grammar school Johann Georg Müller completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter, followed by a study of civil engineering. After a short time he quit civil engineering and took more courses with Albert Henselmann at the Free Academy Mannheim.

    Self-taught, he deals with the works of Wilhelm Leibl and Hans Holbein what he later called crucial to his development as an artist. From 1937 Müller worked freelance,...
