John Koerner (AKA : John Michael Anthony Korner) is a painter, printmaker, etcher, muralist, educator and author who was born in Novy Jicin, in what is now in the eastern part of the Czech Republic. He moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 1939, which is where he still lives.

His mediums are oil, acrylic, watercolour, casein, crayon, ink, collage, lithograph and etching. His subjects are; the Canadian west coast landscape, shoreline and seascape; still life; flowers; spiritual metaphor and fantasy. His style is semi abstraction and modernism; stressing colour and shape to convey feeling and mood, and perhaps to influence the viewers own feelings.
