About John Pearson

  • Biography

    Born in 1940 in Yorkshire, England, John Pearson attended Akademie Der Bildenden Kunst, in Munich, Germany, as well as the Royal Academy Schools in London. He has taught at the University of New Mexico, the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design, and the Cleveland Institute of Art, before reaching his current position as the Chair of the Department of Art at Oberlin College.

    His work is featured in the collections of the New York Museum of Modern Art, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, the Tel Aviv Museum of Fine Arts, and the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts, in Hangzhou, China, among others. He has been commissioned for work by numerous Cleveland organizations, including Case Western Reserve University's Peter B. Lewis Center...
