  • Biography

    John Willis Good (1845 - 1879)
Little is known of this sculptor who from a London address exhibited 16 works at the Royal Academy. His bronzes were frequently silvered and cast by Elkingtons. Most of his work was equestrian and on one occasion he combined on a work by Lutyens. Good's exhibited work included hunting and racing subjects and his bronzes, which were of very fine quality, were frequently action studies, page 240, The Dictionary of British Equestrian Artists by Sally Mitchell published by Antique Collectors' Club.

John Willis Good is today recognized as perhaps the most talented English animalier sculptor of his time producing works which were comparable to the masters of the French animalier school. During hDickins Auctioneers
