    Jonathan Seliger is a contemporary artist from New York known for his Pop Art-inspired sculptures made of painted bronze and other metals, painted canvas constructions, works on paper, and outdoor painted metal commissions. He was born in 1955 and earned his BA from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Seliger's objects are often everyday items that he imbues with poetry, humor, and social critique through subtle shifts in scale, color, surface, and language. He has had over 30 solo shows around the world and has participated extensively in group exhibitions. His work can be found in the permanent collections of several museums, including the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York
