    García Narezo was a prominent Spanish naturalized Mexican painter. He was deaf-mute by birth, and the son of Mexican mother and art critic Gabriel García Maroto. He arrived in Mexico in 1928 as a refugee from the Spanish Civil War. He studied at the School of Outdoor Painting in Tlalpan and four years later returned to Spain to study at the Escuela Hogar Imagen, which his father had founded in Madrid.

    His work was directed in a constant evolution until reaching surrealism. Over time it became known both in Mexico and in various countries in Latin America and the United States.
