Jose Luis Florit Rodero was born in Madrid, Spain in 1909. Painter, draftsman and illustrator, José Luis Florit begins his studies between Olot and Figueras, under the direction of the painter Juan Núñez. After this initial period, he settled in Madrid, where he studied Fine Arts at the San Fernando School.

In order to complete Rodero's training, he moved to Paris in 1935, where he came into contact with the different avant-gardes in force. He always maintained a very personal style. Upon Rodero's return he settled in Barcelona.
