    Josef Rolf Knobloch was born in 1891 in Böhmisch Kamnitz [Ceská Kamenice]. He was a student at the Liebwerda art school. He also studied at the Technical University of Munich from 1911 before finally turning to painting. As an artist largely autodidact, he was influenced by the open-air painter Eduard Schleich the Elder and Adolf Lier and Impressionism and the Barbizon School. He then worked freelance in Munich. From 1915 Josef sent the exhibitions in the Glaspalast. He was a member and for many years first president of the Munich Artists' Association "Die Juryfrei" and the "Freie Ausstellung". He was also a member of the Regional Association of Bavarian Artists, was in the Economic Association of Visual Artists Munich, and in the ReicThieme-Becker, Vollmer, Dressler, Bruckmann "Munich painters of the 19th / 20th century", Müller-Singer and Internet...
