His exhibition of tapestries in Barcelona (1961) was so well received that during the next year, he exhibited many times in several cities. He painted the glass windows for the Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Rome in 1966. By the late 1960s, he had solo exhibitions internationally, including consecutive years in New York City.
