    Jozef Szajna is a versatile artist who worked as a set designer, theater director, painter, and graphic designer. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and began his painting and graphic work in the 1950s. Szajna initially explored informel art and collage techniques before transitioning to assemblage in the 1960s, where he incorporated ready-made objects to emphasize texture in his compositions. His later works in the 1980s and 1990s reflected his wartime experiences, blending elements of figurative art and abstract expressionism. Szajna represented Poland at prestigious art events such as the Venice Biennale in 1970 and 1990, as well as the Sao Paulo Biennale in 1979.
