    Juan Roberto Diago Querol was a painter of strong cubist personality and Cuban professor. He was formed in plastic arts between 1934 and 1942, obtaining the diploma of Professor of Drawing and Painting of the National Academy of Fine Arts San Alejandro.

    In 1945, he moved to Matanzas to work as an assistant professor at the Tarasco School of Plastic Arts. His work is part of important collections such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and the National Museum of Fine Arts of Cuba.

    Throughout his career, he held outstanding solo exhibitions, including "Diago: Drawings and Gouaches at the Lyceum" (Havana, 1944) and "Roberto Diago" (Pan American Union, Washington D.C., 1953).
