    Jules Marie Canneel (1881-1953), older brother of Eugene, John and Marcel, was a pupil of Constant Montald at the Brussels Academy. Mobilized in 1914, interned in camps Harderwijk and Scheveningen, it illustrates the magazine "Inter Nos" and made numerous sketches of the battlefield. His tragic memories are kept at the Army Museum and the Print Room.

    Cartoonist, illustrator and cartoonist, he is also a writer, long judicial columnist "Why not?". Painter of figures and landscapes, his post-impressionist style is characterized by wide strokes colored brushes, evocative of Fauvism.
