    In the early to mid 1970s, Karin Jaroszynska's style was fundamentally influenced by the surrealistic images painted by her husband Tadeusz Jarosynski with whom she regularly collaborated and exhibited. Having spent much of her life primarily as a mother and wife, it was only when she was in her 40s that Jaroszynska's own style matured.

    According to Esmé Berman, the artist made a series of large paintings in the late 1970s in which "she gave form to a unique community of mirror-image men and women, cloned from some doe-eyed, large-nosed, low-browed prototype of her remembering or dreaming".
