    Karl Wilhelm Diefenbach was born in 1851 in Hadamar. Diefenbach was an independent exponent of the Art Nouveau movement and Symbolism. Since 1974, in Capri, a museum has been dedicated to his works, housed in the Certosa di San Giacomo, where Diefenbach spent several years of his life. In the Capri landscape, Karl Wilhelm Diefenbach found naturalistic glimpses of great inspiration for his works that he exhibited in the atelier in via Camerelle, behind the Piazzetta of Capri. His subjects, transferred to the domain of symbols, transcend from any historical reference to align themselves in the story of a dreamed and longed world. The reality in which any space-time relationship is canceled is conceived by the artist as an element of truth...
