    Karl von Enhuber was born in Hof, Germany, on December 16, 1811, and died in Munich on July 7, 1867. He was a German genre painter known for his depictions of Bavarian rural life and everyday professions, rendered with humor, precision, and narrative clarity.

    Enhuber received his first drawing instruction in Nördlingen, and later enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in 1832, where he studied under Peter von Cornelius. Though initially drawn to classical themes, Enhuber found his true artistic voice in the streets and valleys of Upper Bavaria, where he observed and sketched the local population with keen insight and affection.
