    A painter of "people being themselves" (quote from the artist), Larusdottir shows a wry sense of humor in many of her depictions of human beings in strange situations.

    Born in Iceland in 1944, she studied at the Sir John Cass College, London, England (1964-1965), the Ruskin School of Art, Oxford (1965-1967), and Barking College of Art (1977-1980). She lives and works in England.

    Her grandfather, a former Strongman at the circus, built the first hotel in Iceland, and many of Larusdottir's works are inspired by her childhood and life at her grandfather's hotel.
