    Klaus Arnold was a German painter, sculptor, and educator whose work bridged modernist abstraction with organic form. Born in Heidelberg in 1928, Arnold studied from 1945 to 1954 at the art academies in Düsseldorf, Munich, and Karlsruhe. He was mentored by influential artists including Karl Hubbuch, Erich Heckel, and Wilhelm Schnarrenberger, whose teachings shaped his early artistic development.

    In 1963, Arnold was appointed professor of painting and graphics at the Karlsruhe Art Academy. He later served as rector of the academy from 1976 to 1988, a period during which he helped elevate the institution’s international reputation.
