    The Stuttgart painter Kurt Reichardt grew up in an art-loving environment. From a young age his artistic talent was encouraged. Copying old masters trained his eye and his sense of color and form.

    In the years 1923-25 he studied at the Stuttgart Academy, largely under Christian Landenberger. On several study trips to Holland, Italy and Berlin, he made further. In 1928, he was represented by his work in the Nuremberg exhibition "German art of the present" and received a medal for excellence.
