About Lelo (Helen) Fiaux

    Born Helen Fiaux, she was a pupil of Georges Aubert in Lausanne, then Amédée Ozenfant and André Lhote in Paris. She traveled the world in 1928, staying in Paris, Rome (she was a close friend of Alberto Moravia), the United States and Tahiti before returning to Switzerland in 1939. She held her first exhibition in Lausanne in 1941. During the war, she received several recognitions in poetry and literature in the French-speaking workshop Palud in Lausanne. She lived abroad between 1945 and 1954, some years Ischia and Morocco and moved to Saint-Saphorin in 1954.
