    The following information was submitted in July of 2006 by Family Ties Fine Art:
    Born in London, England, he studied art at he Sir Joh Cass Institute in London, as well as with his father, Charles William Salmon.

    He left England in 1906, traveling throughout British Columbia, Idaho, Utah, Montana and Washington, settling in Tacoma in 1913. He became known as the unofficial painter of Mt. Rainier. Salmon also painted portraits, using watercolor and oil as favorite media in his work.
