Bösken was a member of the National Association of Visual Artists and the Artists Association 'Malkasten'. As well, he joined the 'Mutter-Ey-Kreis'. In 1919, he founded the artists' group 'Das Junge Rheinland'. In the Third Reich, he was banned from exhibiting. During the war many of his works were destroyed.
