Born in 1961 and still working and living on the Cape, she studied under modern Cape Cod painter, Sam Barber and briefly with Provincetown teacher Henry Hensche, as well as at the Gloucester Academy of Art.
She has won gold medals at many Cape Cod juried shows, as well as at the
Salmagundi Club in New York, and in 1986, the Sara Boal Award at New York's National Art Club.
She was featured in The American Artist magazine in 1988.

Loretta Feeney was born in 1961, and spent her childhood on Cape Cod. She studied under the instruction of John Terelack at the Gloucester Academy of Art during its last two years from 1980 to 1982. Later, she worked under Sam Barber; and briefly under Henry Hensche.
Feeney has been entering her work in open juried shows and prize competitions since 1979. In addition to many regional prizes from the Cape Cod Art Association and similar organizations, she has won a number of national awards and prizes in open juried shows in New York City. These include The Knickerbocker Artists of New York Gold Medal Award (at the Salmagundi Club, 1985), the Catherine Lorrillard Wolfe Art Club's Sara Boal Memorial Cash Award (90th Annual Show, 1986, at the National Arts Club, New York), and the American Artists Professional League Award (at the Salmagundi Club, 1987), and the Grumbacher Gold Medal at the Salmagundi Club's 1993 New York show.
