    The following is from the artist's daughter, Louise Zeitlin of Annapolis, Maryland:

    Born in Fondi, Italy, Lou Marchetti emigrated to the streets of New York City. His dream to become an artist became reality with his acceptance to the Art Students' League where he studied under such renowned artists as: Robert B. Hale, Jean Liberte, Frank McNulty and Frank Reilly, who was his mentor.

    In the 1950's Marchetti's talents found a ready market in the commercial area with his illustrations appearing in the popular magazines of the era -- Look, Life, True, and The Saturday Evening Post. The portrait of Marilyn Monroe was done in 1974 for True For Men. This was in the magazine with an artic...
