    Chronology:

    1944 Louis Jaquet was born in Paris. He spends his adolescence as an apprentice specializing in the restoration of fine, French antique (Boulle) furniture and paintings.
    1964 Upon his return from serving in the French army during the Algerian conflict, he enters The Palace des Vosges Studio in Paris.
    1965 Louis studies at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere.
    1966 He enters the Academie Julian, Paris
    1967 Louis paints and sculpts in central Italy. While there, he also works on restoring works by Perugino and Tintoretto. He does extensive fresco work in seven chapels in Italy and Switzerland. Louis is accepted at the prestigious Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris.
    1972 Louis obtains a diploma from the Ecole National Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris.
    1972-83 He travels to and lives throughout the Middle East, mainly India, Turkey and Afghanistan.
    1983 At the invitation of the government of Israel, Louis visits, paints and exhibits in Tel Aviv.
    1984 He travels to London to work and to exhibit at the Royal Academy.
    1985 Louis wins a major price in the Zurich International Bienniel Art Exhibitions. Soon after, he is commissioned by the Swiss government to execute a large fresco (11 x 13 meters) for the Zurich Palais de Expositions.
    This same year he wins first prize at The International Exhibition of Graphic Art, Tokyo, Japan.
    1987 Received first prize in the E.N.M.A. national exhibition in Italy.
    1992 Prepares work for two French expositions
    1993 Experiments with carborundums, proofing in France and the USA
    1994 Chosen artist for Children's Hospital Benefit, Festival of Trees, USA
    1995 Work sold by Drouot at Rambouillet, titled "Soir de Carnaval".
    1996 Painting commissioned by the American Embassy in Paris. Work collected and critiqued by renowned Florence art critique, Piero Bigongiari.
    2001 Louis Jaquet self-portrait acquired by the Palazzo Pitti Museum, Florence, Italy
    2004 Commission by Pope John Paul II for the Vatican Museum's Permanent Collection.
    2006 Commissioned portrait of Pope John Paul II for The National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin, Ireland
