    The artist Suppin was born in Austria and later moved to France in 1950 to pursue his career as a painter of figurative expressionism. He met the Polish painter Moise Kisling in Marseille, who introduced him to the artist circle around Picasso. Suppin maintained close contact with the then representatives of the ''école de Paris'', including Poliakoff, Manessier, Hartung, Ubac and Soulages. From 1953 Suppin lived in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, where he developed close friendships and joint exhibitions with Picasso, Léger, Atlan, Prévert, Chagall, Fautrier and Tzara.
