    As early as 1906, Ludwig Bock was a master student of Heinrich von Zügel at the Munich Academy. In 1908, Bock participated in the Munich Secession. He hosted a 1910 solo exhibition Galerie Thannhauser in Munich and took a 1913 study trip to Paris. Bock was influenced by Matisse and Cezanne, but also by the artists of the "Scholle" circle. Bock held regular exhibitions in the Glaspalast, Munich Secession and Haus der Kunst Munich. Ludwig Bock was married twice: in the first marriage with the painter Hansl Bock (around 1930) and in a second marriage with Irene Bock.
