    Luise Begas-Parmentier was a landscape and architectural painter. She was a pupil of the landscape painter Emil Jakob Schindler and the etcher W. Unger. In 1877 she married the painter Adalbert Begas, afterwards living in Berlin. Her study trips led her to Sicily and Constantinople, as well as to the Baltic Sea and the Spreewald. She was particularly fond of depicting Venice and southern Italian landscapes.(Cf. Heinrich Fuchs, Die österreichischen Maler des 19. Jahrhunderts, Vol. 1, p.31.)
