    Lukta Qiatsuk (1928 – 2004) (1)

    An important and influential Canadian Inuit printmaker, graphic artist, draftsman, and sculptor; Lukta Qiatsuk (disc number* E7-1060) was born in Cape Dorset* [aka: Kinngait], Baffin Island, Northwest Territories [now Nunavut], and lived his whole life there. For over 50 years Qiatsuk’s works have been featured in dozens of museum exhibitions in Canada, the USA, Europe, and Japan; and, in dozens of landmark books about Inuit Art. His works are in the permanent collections of over 24 major museums including the National Gallery of Canada. (2)
