    Manuel Ramos Artal (Madrid, 1855 - 1900).

    Madrid painter specialized in the landscape, Ramos Artal made his studies in the Special School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving of San Fernando, in Madrid, where he was a disciple of Carlos de Haes.

    Later he extended his studies through trips to Italy, France, Portugal, Holland and Belgium. From 1876 he assiduously sent his works to contests and exhibitions of various kinds, being awarded a third medal in the National Fine Arts of 1884, and a certificate of third medal in the 1887 edition.

    Previously, he had been distinguished in 1880 with the Medal of the Regional Exhibition of Pontevedra, and with the medal of merit in the exhibition organized in Madrid ...
