He worked in London for a number of years as a decorator and designer. He lived in Ydra from 1961 until his death in 1989, working exclusively as a painter. He held more than 10 solo exhibitions, in London, Montreal, Brussels, Athens, Nicosia, and elsewhere. He took part in a number of group exhibitions, most notably the Alexandria Biennale (1968). Loizidis's work falls into the category of geometrical abstract art. His aim was to present not the world of the senses but the deeper immanent unity of the universe, hence his visionary approach to art.... Read full biography
