    Growing up in rural Minnesota, she early on drew the flowers growing along the creek by her parent's farm.

    Now working from her studio in Covina, California, "following in the footsteps of the California impressionists, Mary Ann captures the subtle colors, the moods and light changes of early morning or the last light of evening; the burnished look of hot, bright days, the golden sunsets of winter. She paints the play of light and shadow on her subjects, capturing the mood, the dramatic moment. Cloud-streaked sunsets, misty mornings, or the soft light of spring mornings are all subjects for her work. Mary Ann is an avid gardener, expressing her love of nature...
