    Mary Newbery Sturrock, daughter of Francis and Jessie Newbery, was a gifted artist known for her exquisite pen and ink and pencil drawings, often featuring botanical subjects. She presented the key to the new Mackintosh-designed Glasgow School of Art in 1899 and later married artist Alick Riddell Sturrock. Mary's close friendship with Cecile Walton and her connection to the Glasgow art scene were significant in her artistic development. Her work was influential, and a ceremonial key she presented at an event was sold at auction in 2018 for a substantial amount.
