    Matthew Hindley, born in Cape Town in 1974, is a South African artist known for his progression from intricate figuration to abstraction in his paintings. He graduated from the University of Cape Town’s Michaelis School of Fine Art in 2002, receiving the Simon Gerson Award and the Michaelis Prize for the best final year exhibition. Hindley has also delved into the use of technology in his art, as seen in works like Speak Naturally and Continuously, which was permanently installed on the façade of the Iziko South African National Gallery in 2019. He has exhibited extensively in South Africa and internationally, including at prestigious events like the 2015 Venice Biennale and the 2021 exhibition National Identity in Barcelona, Spain.Information provided by the user....
