Maurice Lemaître was born October 17th, 1929 at Gouy sous Bellonne in France.
Lemaitre died May 9th, 2018.

Lemaître was an impressionist painter influenced by the 19th Century artists. He shall not be confused with Maurice Lemaître (1926-2018) who was a famous lettrism painter.

Choosing the field of landscape painting, he painted in a loose, free expressionistic manner. Using almost linear strokes he blocked in trees, grass, distant hills and flowing rivers. He preferred the seasons of spring and summer, and his compositions are light and airy. The overall effect is a harmonious balance of tones that captures nature’s gracious beauty.
