He was one of Seán McSweeney's selected painters at the Boyle Arts Festival earlier this year and was the Sunday Independent's Painter of the Year in 1998. His work is in the collection of the NGI. He has spent various periods living and working abroad in Spain, Morocco, the United States, Mexico and Berlin.
