    Born in Copenhagen in 1895, Mogens Vantore first studied with his father, the Impressionist, Hans Christian Hansen. He continued his studies at the Charlottenborg Art Academy, to which he was admitted at the unusually young age of 14. Vantore subsequently studied in Paris (1923-25) where he came under the influence of the Post-Impressionists, particularly Derain, Gauguin and the Nabis. Returning to Denmark, he continued to exhibit successfully in Paris while commencing to exhibit annually, from 1922, at Copenhagen’s Charlottenborg Museum.
