Montserrat Gudiol began in the world of art in the family studio for the restoration of medieval painting, and since 1950 she has dedicated herself to painting on panel and on paper. That same year she held her first individual exhibition at the Ripoll Casino (Girona). In 1953 Gudiol participated in the group show "Current Portrait" at the Barcelona Artistic Circle, and the following year she made her debut abroad with an individual exhibition of drawings held at the Miami Museum (United States). That same year she took part in the collective exhibition "Female Painting" (C.I.C.F. of Barcelona).
