    Born in St. Petersburg, Russia and educated at the Russian Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Nicolia Remisoff was a stage designer so successful that his style was dubbed "Russian Vogue". He was art director for the films "Of Mice and Men" (1939), "Topper Returns" (1941), "The Red Pony" (1949) and "Apache" (1954.

    In New York City, he decorated in 1929 the second floor Grand Salon of New York's Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon & Spa and painted circus scenes for a plaster balcony in the Woman's Athletic Club ballroom in Chicago. In the 1930s, he completed an eight-panel Art Deco panorama mural with classical themes of mythology for the Lake Forest Library in Lake Forest, Illinois.
