    Nikola Mikhailov, born in 1876, was a Bulgarian artist who studied at the Academy in Munich and later became a professor in Sofia. He served as a court painter to the Bulgarian Tsar Ferdinand and eventually moved to Berlin in 1910. In the 1920s and 30s, Mikhailov gained fame as a portraitist, painting notable figures such as King Ferdinand, Tsar Boris III, Kaiser Wilhelm II, Mussolini, Hitler, and others. He was known for his oil paintings and his skill in capturing the likeness of his subjects.
