    Oliver Dorfer was born in Linz, Austria and graduated from Kepler University with degrees in Sociology and Economic Sciences. He is a painter and graphic artist who studied art on his own and was influenced by German expressionism, Japanese woodblock prints, animation, and graffiti art. He created a new formative language by utilizing images such as pop and iconography in his work. His early works in the late 1980s and 1990s were mainly made with charcoal and shellac and were boldly painted. It is characterized by the thick strokes of the brush and the energetic atmosphere on the canvas. Some of his notable series include 'The Pulpproject', 'blue print', and 'nordic print'
