It was after arriving in Halifax in 1926 and settling in Montreal in 1930 that deLall's career as a landscape and portrait artist began. deLall's first recognition as an artist came in 1933 when he was commissioned to do charcoal sketchings of 27 McGill University professors, including Stephen Leacock....
