    Born in Rostov-on-Don, Russia in 1871.
    Naturalized in Chicago, Illinois in 1900.
    Married to Margaret Roper Aline Carey from Hamilton, Ontario in 1903.
    They lived in Paris the following eight years, where he studied painting:

    Honorable Mention in Paris Salon 1907.
    Gold Medal in Paris Salon 1910.
    Settled in Westport, CT 1911.
    Died in Westport, CT 1940.

    A prolific painter, he was well-known for his paintings of Venice and
