    Ottavio Steffenini attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where he was a pupil of Gaudenzi, and then the study of the Spanish painter Bermejo. He lived in Paris, then moved, in 1912, to Spain and then to Martinique and Venezuela. After the First World War he moved to Milan, where he was also a teacher at the Brera Academy and founded, with Bacchelli, the Bagutta Prize.

    Steffenini actively participated in the most important art festivals in Milan and at the Venice Biennale in 1922, where he won the Prix Canonica. His works are kept in the Gallery of Modern Art in Milan and other Italian and foreign collections.
