Otto Karl (Carl) Kirberg, erroneously Otto Kurt Kierberg, a German genre, still life, and portrait painter. Genre, still life and portrait painter (1850 Elberfeld to 1926 Düsseldorf), studied 1868-1882 at the Düsseldorf Academy under Andreas Müller, Carl Müller, Wilhelm Lotz, Wilhelm Sohn, Ernst Froberg, Wilhelm Rossmann, Julius Roeting and Eduard von Gebhardt, interrupted his studies in 1870-71 due to military service in the Franco-Prussian War, wounded here and still listed in the Düsseldorf Academy's records in 1874 as "ill as a result of great exertion during the war", master student of Wilhelm Sohn from 1880, with his support travelled to the Netherlands in 1879, subsequently freelanced in Düsseldorf, subsequently undertoo...
